WHY I PHOTOGRAPH

Photography allows me to express what I don’t always want to put into words. Some thoughts are too quiet, some emotions too layered—and language doesn’t always reach them.

My earliest pull toward photography came from the stillness of the natural world. Nature’s quiet, unintentional beauty moved me, and photographs gave me a way to stay with those moments for longer—to sit with them, return to them, and hold space for what they stirred in me.

In still photography, a story doesn’t need to be resolved. It can remain unfinished and still feel complete.

Every photograph I create is a container — to hold space for my reflections and invite the viewer to step into that space with me.

ABOUT ME

My early career grew out of a love for language. With a Master’s degree in English Literature, I worked as a learning content and curriculum designer, editor, and corporate trainer.

But over time, I found myself drawn to a different kind of expression. Photography offered a way to notice, pause, and engage with the world without words. What began as a quiet interest slowly became something I couldn’t ignore—a practice that felt more like a calling.

Today, I shape a self-directed life that brings together writing, editing, photography, with the creative chaos of raising a young daughter at home. I tend to follow where my curiosity leads, and I come up with more ideas than I can possibly act on—so I’ve come to accept (and even enjoy) my unofficial role as chief ideator at one-new-project-idea-a-day-dot-com.
